Our History

Founded in Fall 1904 at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis as the Society of Hammer and Tongs by four engineering students, Theta Tau is the oldest, largest, and foremost Fraternity for Engineers. Today, Theta Tau proudly has a diverse membership of men and women studying engineering and computer science at more than 75+ campuses across the US.

Our Chapter

Founded in Spring 2003 at the University at Buffalo in Buffalo, New York, the Mu Gamma Chapter of Theta Tau represents the 55th installation of professionalism, service, and brotherhood. Since its founding, the chapter has grew to over 400+ members comprised of 30+ active brothers and 350+ successful alumni.

Our Values

The purpose of Theta Tau is to develop and maintain a high standard of professional interest among its members, and to unite them in a strong bond of fraternal fellowship.

Our Success

Our brothers’ dedication extends far beyond the academic setting. They carry the same excellence and work ethic into their careers, making their mark at leading companies and leaving a lasting legacy of greatness.

And for our brothers still enrolled, their drive and determination shine through meaningful internships, where they apply their knowledge, gain real-world experience, and continue building the foundation for successful careers.
